The barn was constructed around 1836 and refurbished in the late 1990s. It is of unique construction and one of the few buildings of its type in Acworth that survives unaltered from its original design. As part of the renovation, the current spruce siding was harvested on the property; remnants of architectural features and original hardware, that fortunately had been preserved, were incorporated into the reconstruction.
